The Stretchimagination Story

Hi, I’m Richard, the founder of this company. I grew up with a love of the land, courtesy of my farming parents in Western Victoria.  Apart from getting my hands dirty in the garden, in my teens I often expressed my creative ability through a fascination with architecture, drawing house after house.

When it came time to choose what to do in life, I combined architecture with my love of living things and pursued a career in Landscape Architecture.

Trees that are slow to grow bear the best fruit

In the fallout of the Global Financial Crisis, my world turned upside down when I found myself without a job as a landscape architect. Working in a small office of three, we were totally unprepared for the situation, relying primarily on repeat business and word of mouth.

We had no idea how to properly market ourselves.

Changing Direction

I decided then that I had to take charge of my own life. And so the idea of StretchImagination was born. An idea founded on being able to work anywhere, any time, that still used my creative abilities and love of learning.

Looking back, I can see that if we knew then even a fraction of what I now know about marketing, our little LA practice would have survived and prospered through that very lean time.

So now it’s your turn. How can I help support your business so it too can grow and blossom? Click the button below and let me know what’s your biggest problem.

Our Vision

The growing number of homeless people across our towns and cities is cause for concern, not just at government level, but right down to each community that’s affected.

Those lacking regular shelter from the elements are not just individuals, but couples, families, single mums. Sometimes they’re simply in need of emergency accommodation, like after a bushfire or other natural disaster.

1000 Tiny Homes, across Australia.

We have a vision of building a fleet of 1000 tiny homes to be spread across the nation to help provide shelter for these disadvantaged folk. Able to be moved to the location they’re needed, the homes are solid and self-sufficient.

We call it, Homeless Homes.

Stay tuned for further news on this front as we begin the initial phases of gathering together the right people to get the job done.
